Jerry GARCIA est né le 1 Août 1942 (en Californie).
Il est décédé le 9 Août 1995 (au cours d'un ènième séjour dans une centre de désintoxication).
Il a été pendant trente ans (une paille...) le guitariste du mythique groupe Américain GRATEFUL DEAD.
Sa grande capacité d'improvisation et son étonnante maîtrise de l'instrument font de lui, aux yeux de beaucoup, l'un des plus grands guitaristes.
Au départ, il jouait du Folk et du Rock and Roll.
Par la suite s'est ajouté à sa palette le Bluegrass, le Jazz...
Il a travaillé, collaboré, participé avec de nombreux groupes ainsi qu'une infinité d'artistes de renom ou qui allaient le devenir: Joan BAEZ, Bob DYLAN, Bill GRAHAM, Janis JOPLIN, Neil YOUNG etc....

Ry Cooder - Vigilante Man (live)
Ry COODER -- Guitariste, Chanteur et Interprète -- est né à Los ANGELES le 15 Mars (excellente date) 1947.
Il est connu, reconnu et adoubé par ses pairs pour sa haute maîtrise technique de la slide guitar.
Certes grand connaisseur de la musique rock et blues, il l'est également, grâce à son ouverture d'esprit et à une culture musicale sans limite, devenu une sorte de guitariste tout terrain.
Ce statut est légitimé tout au long de sa carrière par, outre ses explorations musicales personnelles, des participations auprès de nombreux et talentueux congénères.
Ce qui l'a amené à jouer avec des gens aussi différents que Randy NEWMAN, CAPTAIN BEEFHEART, The ROLLING STONES, Ali FARKA TOURE, Buffy SAINTE-MARIE, Neil YOUNG, Van MORISSON ou encore David LINDLEY.
il a par ailleurs signé ou travaillé à plus de vingt musiques de films, la plus connue de nous tous (qui ne s'en souvient pas?) demeurant: PARIS, TEXAS.
